New Build Costa Blanca

The recovery of the housing market on the Mediterranean coast is already a fact

A recent report indicates that the housing situation on the beach in Spain is clearly improving in 22.4% of the areas analysed, compared to 8.8% last year.

The buying and selling activity has undergone a radical change in recent years. In 84.5% of the coastal areas analysed by this report, there has been an increase in transactions in holiday accommodation compared to only 23% of the strips analysed the previous year.

The coastal areas where the holiday housing market shows clear signs of recovery are located in the Canary Islands, Mallorca and Ibiza, Costa Dorada, southern Alicante, the east coast of Malaga and the Cadiz coast between Tarifa and Conil.

The Mediterranean is generally more advanced in recovery than the Atlantic and Cantabrian coasts. In all provinces of the Mediterranean region, locations are detected where the holiday housing market evolves positively.

New build properties in specific areas.

As far as the promoter activity is concentrated in specific areas and in most of the areas analyzed (63.8%) no new activity of construction of holiday housing has been started. The outbreaks are concentrated in Costa del Sol, Alicante, Almería, western coast of Cadiz, south of Valencia, Costa Dorada, Maresme, Murcia, Tenerife and Mallorca.

The appearance of the new work on the Costa Blanca is easy to verify, bearing in mind that in 2016, Orihuela, Torrevieja, Elche and Benidorm led the granting of new work visas in municipalities with 10,000 inhabitants, along with Barcelona, Malaga, Almería and Valencia.
