San Juan fiesta - Catral

One more year, we enter the great month of Catral, the month in which we celebrate the feasts in honor of our Patron Saint John. A month to enjoy the best activities, celebrations, parades, and especially to enjoy with your family and friends. In short, a month in which, whether you are from Catral or not, you should not miss out on anything in the world.

Without further delay, we proceed to present the detailed schedule of all the festivities that will take place on the occasion of these Festivals of San Juan in Catral 2017.

Saturday 3rd June

21:00 Parade of the Fiesta Queens and their Ladies in Waiting.

22:30 Election of the new Fiesta Queens and their Ladies in Waiting in the Plaza Casa de Cultural

Thursday 15th June

22:00 Inauguration of the Barracas (fiesta tents)

22:00 Ibicenca Fiesta (must wear white) at the Municpial Swimming Pool

Friday 16th June

00:00 Gathering of the Penas (clubs) for the Charanga Parade. Route: C/Azorín y C/Purísima, y

recorrido: C/Azorín, C/Óscar Esplá, C/Santa Bárbara, Plaza de España, C/García Ortuño, C/Manuel Flores, Avd. Constitución y C/Purísima.

Saturday 17th June

11:30 Party for the 'Peñistas' (clubs) in the Plaza de España with DJ's, inflatable games, beer and water fights (swimwear is recommended)

13:00 Grand Chupinazo in the Plaza de España.

20:00 Grand Fancy Dress Parade of the Peñas. Route: C/ Manuel Flores, Avda. La Constitución and C/Purisima

01:00 Partying in Calle Purísima y Avda. Constitución.

Sunday 18th June

11:00 Inauguration of the municipal swimming pool.

19:30 Corpus Christi Procession

Friday 23rd June

22:00 Sobaquillo dinner (bring your own food) in the Parque de la Palmera – advance reservation necessary for tables and chairs

00:00 Quema, buring of the Hogueras.

Saturday 24th June

08:00 Ringing of the church bells and firing of rockets.

18:30 Parade with the Music Band de la S.U.M. La Constancia to collect the fiesta queens.

19:30 Solemn Mass

20:30 Solemn Procession in honour of San Juan followed by a firework display.

Sunday1st July

23:00 Concert in honour of the Sagrado Corazón de Jesús in the Plaza de España, followed by the La Banderita Parade and the firing of rockets in C/Santa Bárbara and the Plaza de España.

Sunday 2nd July

20:30 Solemn Procession with the statue of Sagrado Corazón de Jesús followed by the traditional firework display.
