Catral Fiesta San Juan
The town of Catral will be celebrating their patron saint; San Juan Bautista from the 2nd June to the 1st July 2018. There are many activities planned, below is the translated version of some of the more major events of Catral's Patron Saints Fiesta.
Saturday 2nd June
21:00 Parade of the Fiesta Queens and their Ladies in Waiting.
22:30 Election of the new Fiesta Queens and their Ladies in Waiting in the Plaza Casa de Cultural
Sunday 3rd June
22:00 Grand Concert with music from the banda sinfónica de la S.U.M “La Constancia” and song from the Orfeón Voces Crevillentinas in the Plaza Casa de Cultura
Thursday 14th June
22:00 Ibicenca Fiesta (must wear white) at the Municpial Swimming Pool
Friday 15th June
00:00 Gathering of the Penas (clubs) for the Election of the King & Queen. Route: C/Azorín C/Óscar Esplá, C/Santa Bárbara, Plaza de España, C/García Ortuño, C/Manuel Flores, Avd. Constitución y C/Purísima.
01:00 Partying in the streets Calle Purisima
Saturday 16th June
11:00 Party for the Chupinazo in the Plaza de España with DJ's, inflatable games, beer and water fights (swimwear is recommended)
13:00 Grand Chupinazo in the Plaza de España.
20:30 Grand Fancy Dress Parade of the Peñas. Route: C/ Manuel Flores, Avda. La Constitución and C/Purisima
01:00 Partying in Calle Purísima y Avda. Constitución.
Sunday 17th June
21:30 Preformance by the Escula de Danza del Conservatorio in the Plaza de la Casa de Cultura
Saturday 23rd June
22:00 Sobaquillo dinner (bring your own food) in the Parque de la Palmera – advance reservation necessary for tables and chairs
Sunday 24th June
08:00 Ringing of the church bells and firing of rockets.
18:30 Parade with the Music Band de la S.U.M. La Constancia to collect the fiesta queens.
19:30 Solemn Mass
20:30 Solemn Procession in honour of San Juan followed by a firework display.
Saturday 30th June
23:00 Concert in honour of the Sagrado Corazón de Jesús in the Plaza de España, followed by the La Banderita Parade and the firing of rockets in C/Santa Bárbara and the Plaza de España.
Sunday 1st July
19:30 Mass followed by the traditional firework display.
