The granting of visas for new housing closes 2016 with an increase of 29%
Of the total number of permits (64,038), 46,889 were for block floors (up 34% year-on-year) and 17,134 for single-family homes (17%).
Visas for new construction for residential use stood at 64,038 units in 2016, an increase of 29% compared to 2015 (49,695 units). In this way, the permits keep the path up and chain three consecutive years in positive, according to data from the Ministry of Public Works.
Of the total number of visas in 2016, 46,889 were of block flats (up 34% year-on-year) and 17,134 single-family homes, with an annual increase of 17%. In addition, 15 permits were requested for other types of buildings not intended for family dwellings, compared to 19 for 2015.
This increase in 2016 comes after the visa recovery (with an improvement of 42.5%) was consolidated in 2015, which began in 2014, a year in which it broke seven consecutive years in negative terms when it rebounded 1, 7%. This indicator of the real estate market in 2013 marked a record low (34,288 units), a figure that from the peak reached in 2006, with 865,561 visas, was a collapse of 96%.
