We have just returned from Spain and have completed the purchase of our new penthouse apartment which we purchased “off plan” with Gary of Vincent Real Estate when we were out in May/June last year. Rosemary and I are very pleased with the way things went, both with the builder, who actually facilitated an early completion for us, and at the Notary’s office. We would like to thank Gary once again for all the patience and help which he afforded us on the viewings. The views from the balcony of the apartment are amazing and the location is second to none.
We had decided not to put our existing property in Sucina on the market until we returned to Spain in October last year. So, a week after we returned we again contacted Vincent Real Estate with a view to giving them the sale. A lady called Cecilia phoned us from the Los Alcazares office and came to see us the very next day (Tuesday). She was very enthusiastic about our property and said that she may have a couple who would be interested as they were viewing in the area but she would have to make contact with them to confirm their interest. We received a phone call the following day to say that the couple would like to come and view on Friday. The viewing took place as arranged and they said that they were very interested in buying and would return home at the week-end with a view to sorting out their finances.
On the Tuesday of the next week we received another call from Cecilia to ask if we had heard of a TV programme called “A Place In The Sun”. We said that of course we had and she went on to say that they would be interested in coming to see if the property would be suitable to use as one of the properties for their client to view on the present programme they were filming in the local area. They came on the Thursday and were very impressed. They said that they would definitely be using it and the filming would take place next Tuesday. We couldn’t believe what was happening!!!!
Unfortunately we were returning home on the Sunday and so would not be there when it all happened but happily handed over all the keys to Cecilia who would be present on the day. Back home in Northern Ireland we received two phone calls; the first from Cecilia to say that the lady who had viewed was very interested and would be making an offer; the second from Karin, who is also in the Los Alcazares office and the sale was agreed.
As Vincent Real Estate knew that our new apartment would not be ready until the New Year they agreed with the buyer that completion of the sale be delayed. When we were out in February Karin arranged the completion and we had a successful visit to the Notary’s. Before returning home we again went to visit Cecilia and Karin at the Los Alcazares office to thank them for all their help and were made very welcome.
We are still in a bit of a daze in relation to all of this and how quickly it all happened. We have seen the programme on TV and so have all our friends. Properties in our area have been up for sale for months and even years and some have not even had a viewing. We sold ours within three weeks of handing it over to Vincent’s. I really can’t say enough about the work ethics of Vincent Real Estate and the people whom they employ. From the outset Gary & Mark in the Benijofar office, Cecilia & Karin in Los Alcazares and the legal team of Jose and Pilar have all been exemplary, so if you are thinking of buying a property in Spain or selling one then these are the people you need on your side.
